The
following is the Bury League Division 3 prize-winning "Game of
the Season" 2010-2011 won by John Dawson (ECF 104) of Linton against
Franceys Allen (ECF 111) of Stowmarket played at Stowmarket on 19th
April 2011. The judge commented that the game showed "the best handling
of pieces" of the games submitted in that division.

after White's 25th move. Black played 25.... bxc5+ ?? believing the
fork to be effective. In fact, he had only to retreat the Bishop to a7
to save the piece, since White's c5 pawn is pinned and cannot take the
Queen! The game continued:
