Here is the swindle of the century, in which Linton’s ungraded Lionel Tun, estimated at 70 ECF, caught out Bury St Edmunds’ Scott Taylor (150 ECF) in Division 2 of the Bury Area Chess League on 24th March 2011. We give the last few moves of the game only.

In this game Simon Cage of Linton brought off a “Legal Mate” against Harry McCrae of Bury St Edmunds in Division 3 of the Bury Area Chess League on 21st September 2010. Harry, it should be noted, was graded high enough to have known better than to fall into the trap, but "obviously" comments Simon ‘"he Queen capture proved too tempting". It is not advisable to try this gamble unless you are prepared for it no to come off!

The following is the Bury League Division 3 prize-winning  "Game of the Season" 2010-2011 won by John Dawson (ECF 104) of Linton against Franceys Allen (ECF 111) of Stowmarket played at Stowmarket on 19th April 2011. The judge commented that the game showed "the best handling of pieces" of the games submitted in that division.
