At the Bury Area Chess Jamboree 2011 LINTON finished jointly first with Cambridge and tied on tie-break, sharing the prize.

LINTON won the Bury Area Rapidplay competition again this year.

LINTON finished top of the Bury Area Chess League 3rd Division again this year.

Paul Kemp, captain of LINTON'S 1st Division
team, played at the British Chess Championships in Sheffield this year,
finishing with a highly creditable score of 5/11. This included three
wins against opposition which included International Masters.

John Dawson, captain of LINTON'S 3rd Division
team won the Bury Area 3rd Division "Game of the Season" prize, and
finished runner-up in the "Players of the Year" listing.

Finally, the Cambridgeshire Jamboree saw
LINTON coming up from behind in the final round to snatch victory from
New England by half a point. The result gives LINTON three outright
wins in four years. Mark Lim and Patrick Heneghan both achieved a 3/3
score. Our team consisted of Norman Hutchinson, Paul Kemp (captain),
Mark Lim and Patrick Heneghan.
